SLIS Adjunct Instructor Roy Balleste Has Contribution Accepted For Preparatory Meeting of 5th Internet Governance Forum

The United Nations (UN) has accepted for publication and wide distribution Roy Balleste’s contribution to the preparatory meeting of the fifth Internet Governance Forum (IGF).  The contribution’s main objective is for the addition of a special session, titled “IGF’s Future,” to discuss the extension of the IGF mission.


“The primary goal of the IGF is a multi-stakeholder political dialogue on the main issues of internet governance in order to promote internet security, stability and development. The World Internet Governance Forum is conducted by the United Nations Secretariat-General and annually attracts representatives from over 100 countries.”  The 2010 meeting will be held 14-17 September in Vilnius, Lithuania.

SLIS alum and adjunct instructor,  Roy Balleste is Law Library Director and Associate Professor of Law at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida.  Roy is currently teaching LIS 5937 Internet Governance.
