An Unsung Hero of the Recession. David Stoner. USF ’94

In a feature, “Librarians now add social work to their resumes,St.Petersburg Times Staff , Will Van Sant,  highlights the work of USF SLIS grad, David Stoner, director of adult services for the Clearwater Public Library System.


Van Sant writes:

Trained to help adults discover the trial of Socrates and sixth graders track the Oregon Trail, he now spends half his time in the trenches of a battered economy. There his job is far more urgent: helping people who need jobs, food stamps or Medicaid.”

Other Bay area librarians in the story include Andrew Breidenbaugh, chief librarian at Tampa’s John F. Germany Public Library (USF ’98);
